Privacy Policy
ChiChat is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect your personal information. Please read the following terms carefully.
- Information We Collect: We may collect personal information that you provide, such as your name, email address, and contact details. We may also automatically collect information about your use of the platform, including your IP address, browser type, access date, and access time.
- How We Use Information: We may use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the platform, features, and services. We may also use your information to send service-related notices and updates.
- Information Disclosure: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties unless we have obtained your explicit consent or are required to do so under applicable law.
- Data Storage and Processing: ChiChat uses regional servers, databases, and backup systems to operate the service. Servers for the China region are located within mainland China. For users outside mainland China or for overseas services, data is stored and processed on independent servers located in Silicon Valley, and by relevant service providers in the countries or regions where they operate, only as necessary to provide cloud storage, content processing, payment, email notification, troubleshooting, and security protection services. We require those service providers to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
- Data Retention Period: We store and retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Account information and content you actively save are retained while your account remains active. After you request deletion of your account or related data, we will usually delete or anonymize the relevant personal information within 30 days. For security, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting, server logs, device information, IP addresses, and access records are usually retained for no longer than 180 days. Backup data is deleted or anonymized according to the backup rotation cycle. Payment, order, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, or compliance records that must be retained by law will be kept for the period required by law, generally no longer than 7 years. After the applicable retention period expires, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise process the relevant data so that it can no longer identify an individual.
- Data Security: We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
- Privacy Rights and Updates: You may access, correct, or update your personal information at any time. If you need to delete your personal information, please contact us.
